במפגש הרביעי של האפגרייד יציגו דניאל לנדאו ואסף תלמודי, שני מלחינים העוסקים בשילוב של מוזיקה ומדיה חדשה. השניים יציגו את הפרוייקטים האחרונים שלהם, ופרוייקטים בתהליך, תוך ניסיון להעיר על המשותף .והשונה בגישותיהם הייחודיות למוזיקה, סאונד ומדיה. אחרי הצגתם יהיה דיון עם האמנים

אסף הוא מלחין מוזיקה מודרנית, המתמצא במערכות מוזיקה אינטרקטיביות,המשלבות תיכנות מחשבים וכתיבה לכלים מוזיקלים. עניינו המרכזי בתחום ההלחנה האלגוריטמית בכלל ובשימוש של מערכות דינמיות כדרך לגשת לתבניות מוזיקליות מסובכות בכלל. אסף עובד על תואר שני קונסרבטוריון הממלכתי בהאג ומלמד עיצוב ממשק אינטראקטיבי, אקוסטיקה ומבוא לעיצוב סאונד דיגיטילי בשנקר, ושפת התכנות (מאקס/מ.ס.פי. וז'יטר) במרכז .לאמנות דיגיטלית בחולון וב"ניו מדי חדר"בירושלים

אסף הציג במסגרות שונות בארץ ובעולם ביניהם: פסטיבל הבינלאומי לקולנוע, ירושלים, 2005; הפרות סדר, 2005, אמנות הארץ; אדיו ארט פסטיבל, קרקוב, 2003; מכון סטיין, אמסטרדם 2001.

Assaf Talmudi

Assaf is a composer of modern music; specialising in interactive music systems,
integrating computer programming and instrumental writing. His main interest is in the field of algorithmic composition in general, and in the usage of dynamic systems as a way of interfacing complex musical structures in particular. His research is towards the modeling of musical information in decentralized physical-like systems. Assaf is working towards M.A. in music in the composition department and the Institute of Sonology at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague on the subjectt: Analysis / Re-synthesis of musical gestures using complex physical models and genetic algorithms. He teaches Interactive Interface Design, Acoustics and Introduction to
digital sound design at Shenkar College of Design and Engineering, Ramat – Gan. Teaches the
following courses, and courses on Max/MSP/Jitter programming
language at The Israeli Centre for Digital Art, Hulun and at The Jerusalem New Media Cheyder.

Recent performances include:
"Tsinor Hakesem", Hafarot Seder, Experimental music festivla, Hagada Hasmalit (2005); "The Way Sounds Make Up Their Minds" , for computer-controlled acoustic piano, a performance piece in which artificial intelligence research and sheer avant-guard power come together. Presented during Omanut Haaretz ,Reding power plant in Tel Aviv, "Interference", Jerusalem Film Festival (2004-5); "A Mayse fan Farzijten", an interactive music show, combining live
computer music networks, animation synthesis and acoustic instruments, presented in the Krakow museum of modern art, Krakow,Poland, as part of the international AudioArt festival (2002); "Fish 1.0 beta" , an interactive sound and graphics synthesis installation, presented in the Steim institute for computer art research, Amsterdam, The Netherlands; "Cat’s Cradle", for string quartet and a computer network, premiered during the May Festival in the Korzo Theatre, The Hague, The Netherlands (2001).

Daniel Landau -

Director / Composer currently working in Tel Aviv & Amsterdam. Landau completed his second degree in music composition and new media at the Royal Conservatory, The Hague [1999].Using diverse media in his film and performance work, Landau explores the borders of cinematic language in the context of live performance. His work has been presented in major festivals and venues worldwide - among others Amsterdam’s Paradiso and Concertgebouw, Lowlands Festival, Sitges International Film Festival [ES], Bath International Music Festival [ UK], Bartok Festival [HU] and Mexico City's Festival del Centro Historico [MX].
His recent project, The Worlds of Milosh II - Welcome to Grid City received national and international attention and was named one of the five best music-theater projects of the 2002-2003 season by Theatermaker magazine.
In 2002 Landau co-founded BZAZ Foundation – an Amsterdam based platform for innovative cross media productions.

An Orkater & Nederland Philharmonic co-production; ‘PLANETA KENNEL’, Video piece (2003); Director of 'The Worlds of Milosh II – WELCOME TO GRID CITY’, An animated music theater performance for 5 musicians, actor and projections, Featuring Actor Shai Shahar & Orkest De Shabab. Performances include: Festival a/d Werf, Utrecht; De Brakke Grond, Amsterdam; Rotterdamse Schouwburg, Bath international music festival, Lowlands Festival (2003); Composer of 'ANA SHAHID - part 1' [10 min] Music for strings, winds, percussion, Kanun and electronics. Performances include: Paradiso, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Vredenburg Utrecht; Director of ‘The Worlds of Milosh I'[70 min] (2002).
