Workshop for real-time multimedia tools in Jerusalem.

Max/MSP, SuperCollider, Puredata (Gem/PDP)

This workshop is an advanced workshop for media artist, video artist and musicians.

What?

This workshop is an advanced and 'hands on'. It focuses on individual projects. The main objective of this workshop is to acquire intermediate users with strategies and tactics going about constructing a 'live setup' of video synthesis or sound synthesis or both.

There is also a possibility to approach ideas and projects that involve sensors, cameras, different computer interfaces, and multi-channel video or audio projection.

For who?

Applicants should either

1. Have some degree of familiarity in the mentioned programs.

2. Have been working extensively with software other than the ones mentioned,

(Such as Final Cut, Avid, Flash, Pro55ing, different sequencer programs and sound sculpting programs such as audio Mulch and Reaktor), and would like to extend their artistic freedom by examining the possibilities that 'code oriented' approach has over their digital creation.


3. Have some background in computer language (Java, python, PHP, lisp, C, OOP or markup languages) and are interest in digital art, with a specific idea for a project.

The workshop is given by Amos Elmaliah an artist residing in The Hague, The Netherlands. Elmaliah has wide experience in different art fields. He compose and play music both as instrumentalist and a computer musician, he develops his own software for the creation of his abstract cinema performances, videos and music, and works as a video editor, and artistic director.
