Performance - installation
As they walk around the neighborhood, with a shopping cart full of produce purchased at the nearby marketplace (shuk) the two artists stop at different spots to set up mini-monuments – rows of strawberries on the cover of a gas balloon, oranges placed in a windowsill, piles of candies stacked in an entranceway. These works temporarily adorn the neighborhood, and are left for the passersby to enjoy and partake of.
Each piece is photographed as it is made during the event, and immediately adhered to a large map, hung in one of the community buildings, to mark its location.
